Ljubljana Marsh is a unique natural area, known for its rich ecosystem that includes wetlands, meadows, and numerous rare species of plants and animals. Due to its characteristics the marsh is prone to frequent flooding.
This phenomenon is also visible in last week’s photographs of the marsh. The water retention in this area can also be monitored using our app, vodakje.si, which analyses Sentinel-1 satellite radar images to detect water surfaces.
