The EO4MASRISK program is designed to detect and monitor ground movements and assess landslide risks. It was developed by the Geological Survey of Slovenia, the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy, and GeoCodis, with funding from the European Space Agency (ESA).
The project’s main goal was to create a method and a prototype application for monitoring ground deformations and assessing landslide risks using Sentinel-1 satellite data. This service is now part of the MASPREM system, which helps predict landslides in Slovenia. By integrating EO4MASRISK into MASPREM, the system can better identify and predict avalanche activity and potential damage.
GeoCodis was responsible for several key tasks during the project:
– Identifying the main technical requirements and user needs to enhance the service’s functionality,
– Setting up a development environment with a virtual server to access the project’s data sources and other public datasets (such as GURS and DURS),
– Building the service according to the functional specifications,
– Incorporating the new service into MASPREM and validating the results.
