In recent days, we have repeatedly seen in media that the smoke from the Karst fire in Slovenia can also be seen from space. Which of course is true. However, we were particularly interested in whether we can use the existing tools from the Sentinel Hub web portal (Powered by Sentinel Hub with contributions by ESA) and data from the Sentinel2 satellite to visualize the extent of burned areas? The answer is of course positive. We used comparisons between images taken at the beginning of July (4/7/2022) and at the and of July (24/7/2022). The scale of this natural disaster can be seen on the example of the RGB color image, the vegetation index NDVI and the burned area index BAIS2. Additional comments are unnecessary.
